Window and door installation in Lebanon and Lancaster County, PA

Replacement windows and doors, installed and trimmed

We install windows and doors as part of remodels and as stand-alone jobs. The installation matters as much as the unit: flashing, insulation around the frame, and trim that fits the house.

Why Amazing Builders

Why homeowners call us for windows and doors

Every opening measured

Old houses have no two openings the same size. We measure each one and order each window to it, which is why ours fit without a wedge of foam.

Installed and finished, not just set

Shimmed plumb, foamed, flashed and caulked outside, cased and trimmed inside. A window is not done when the sash moves; it is done when the trim is painted.

Brick, frame and rowhome experience

Pocket replacements in masonry openings, full-frame replacements where the old frame is rotten, new-construction windows in renovations.

Ordered on time

Windows take two to six weeks. In a renovation we measure in the first week so the house is sealed before drywall.

What is included

Everything from the first day to the last coat of paint

We work with vinyl and fiberglass replacement windows, fiberglass and steel entry doors, and interior doors with new casing.

  • Replacement windows in existing openings
  • New openings and enlarged windows
  • Entry and storm doors
  • Interior doors, prehung or slab
  • Casing, sills and trim
  • Exterior caulking and flashing

How we do it

Windows and doors, step by step

  1. 1

    Walkthrough and measurements

Every window and door measured, each noted for condensation, rot or damage. You get a per-opening estimate, so you can do the weather side first if the budget says so.

  2. 2

    Order

Windows and exterior doors made to size, two to six weeks. Interior doors and standard storm doors sooner.

  3. 3

    Removal

Old sashes and frames out. In brick, the opening stays. In frame walls with rot, the frame and sometimes the sheathing come out and are replaced.

  4. 4

    Set, shim, seal

Plumb and level, both sashes checked, low-expansion foam around the frame, sill pan under it, flashing tape outside.

  5. 5

    Trim inside and out

Casing, stool and apron inside; capping or wood trim and caulk outside. Doors get a new threshold, sweep and weatherstripping.

  6. 6

    Labels off at the walkthrough

Manufacturer labels stay on until you have seen them with us; they carry the ratings and serial numbers for the warranty.

Windows and doors: questions people ask us

Can you replace one window?

Yes. One failed window with condensation between the panes is a repair call for us, not a minimum order.

Can windows be installed in winter?

Yes. Each opening is open for under an hour, and the foam and caulk we use are rated for cold weather.

Black outside and white inside, is that possible?

Yes, from most makers, for a small upcharge. It is the most common request we get now.

Do you replace the interior trim?

Stops always; casing, stool and apron when the old ones are damaged or when you want an upgrade. We paint what we install.

What about screens and grids?

Screens come with every window. Grids between the glass never need cleaning and suit older houses; we show samples with and without.

Who handles the warranty?

The manufacturer covers the glass seal and frame, often 20 years to lifetime. We keep the labels on until the walkthrough so you have the records, and we handle the installation warranty ourselves.
